I say "we're not buying Nestle"
he says: "why not?"
I say "I don't agree with their business policy in developing countries"
He says "but it's two for a quid"
I say "My principles will not be compromised by cheap offers, we are NOT buying Nestle"
He says" So why is Tesco OK but Nestle isn't?"
I say "erm... well it's different"
He says: "no it's not"
I say: "yes it is"
He says "explain it to me then"
I say "erm..."
"erm..."
"erm..."

"shall we go to Asda instead?"

fryalot · 04/02/2008 09:53

I don't know what is wrong with Tesco
compared to Asda
thought they were all as bad as each other but still go cos cheaper

iheartdusty · 04/02/2008 18:46

Tesco directly benefits Shirley Porter whose family owns the company or most of it and who was found responsible for corrupt-style practices when she was on Westminster council.

CaptainCod · 04/02/2008 18:47

mine love nestle cceral i am afraid

harpsichordcarrier · 04/02/2008 18:49

you could try:
I don't buy Nestle because of all the dead babies that tends to be a bit of a conversation stopper

FrannyandZooey · 04/02/2008 18:52

Tesco is bad
Asda is also bad

you have to draw the line somewhere though, and Nestle is a good place to start drawing it IMO

does your dp suggest you do NOTHING as far as shopping ethically goes, just because you're not able to buy everything perfectly ethically? How about making an effort, making a start? He's being quite b&w
