Help! Need to look good on Saturday night.....

I've got to go to a Hollywood themed Winter Ball on Saturday night. I'm pg - at the 'thickening middle' stage rather than bump and most of the people there won't know and I don't really want to use the night to tell them. I just need a few suggestions for some instant glamour as I'm feeling like a lump at the moment.

deffo a cropped fur white jacket - new look do them - or what about a big feather boa to hide your middle?

I should probably wrap it round my middle!

Yes, something that detracts from your waist - plunging neckline perhaps - seriously, though or a lovely scarf (scarf sounds awful, but you know what I mean - there are some gorgeous materials about)

I'm thinking Louise Brooks/Gloria Swanson/Theda Bara here in terms of a drop-waisted dress with spangles/bugle beads...use headgear (silky turban or headband, maybe)and a fancy hemline and/or stockings and shoes to draw attention away from your middle. How does that sound, Welshmum?
I am getting quite a good "instant presentability" effect from a good dollop of Clarins Flash Beauty Balm at the mo, just a shame they don't sell it in buckets to slather over my entire person.
What a lovely theme for a party, I hope you have a brilliant time...

MariaNativityplay THAT is inspired - I've even got a dress that will form the basics and 20's style shoes. All I need is a boa and some red lippy - am having hear done so don't know if I will stick something on my head.
Thanks for the Beauty flash balm reminder too - will dig mine out and hope it still works! (because of the age of the product not the state of my face, although thinking about it.........

If they can see her stockings, Marina, that will certainly detract from her burgeoning bump!
