What can I buy for my new nephew/niece? I'm out of touch with this baby lark.

SIL is buying up all the baby stuff and I've told her to leave some bits for the rellies to buy. What can I buy QUICK that they will need but might not know it yet!

Those baby sleeping bags are pretty new - any recommendations? Are they any good?

What else?

Ideas please....

Def a grobag - perhaps 6-12m size, 1 or 1.5 tog for the summer ?
Or a nice set of colourful board books with flaps; these will be v. handy just a few months down the line.
Bath toys ?

Gro-bags are fab and even if they have one already its great to have a spare for when washing.

ELC do a lovely range of first toys like the stacking cups etc - found everybody bought clothes etc when I had DS so we had very few toys.

muslin cloths - Boots do some nice ones

bumpto3 have some offers on sleeping bags at the moment and they do quick delivery (plus you get a 10% mumsnet discount. They also have casting kits for doing casts of the new baby's hands/feet which could be a nice gift. They are in the gifts section

p.s. just remember to use the code MUMSW7 if you do use the bumpto3 website

Not 'must-haves' as such, but I always used to buy Daisy Roots or Robeez style soft leather shoes in size 6-12 months or above as a present. They were always happily received - though no bugger bought me (or DD) any when she arrived!!
