Smashingpumpkin - I know how you feel. I'm a size 12 now (post having baby 7 months ago), but before having her I was size 8-10. I am also only 5 foot tall, so am very much out of proportion. You'll have to keep us up to date with this.

Smashingpumpkin · 02/12/2004 22:11

mummytummy, don't feel embareesed lets face it we have all had children and smear tests this isn't any worse!!

WigWamBam · 02/12/2004 22:12

Janey, have you tried the shirts/tops from Bravissimo? They come in different fittings in each size, up to super curvy.

mummyfullofturkeytummy · 02/12/2004 22:13

Thing is SP, he is kind of cute

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 22:13

Not tried the tops - don't like to show my arms! I know my Aunt has though and she loves them

WigWamBam · 02/12/2004 22:16

They do fitted tops with long sleeves too

Smashingpumpkin · 02/12/2004 22:21

Oh Mummy tummy how you have made me smile, boobs are boobs!!

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 22:22

Oh I haven't seen those before as I said haven't been looking as been wearing nursing bras for a while now. Unfortunately I have a phobia/fear which prevents me from wearing shirts. But thanks anyway.

Smashingpumpkin · 02/12/2004 22:45

The most embareesing thing about having a breast reduction op is having to have your photo taken, I could be paid for such a priveledge but unfortunately it is all in the name of medical research xx

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 22:50

Not sure I fancy that! You know the pencil test where if you can hold a pencil under your boob then they are droopy. Or some such nonsense! What does it mean if you can hold a remote control?

Smashingpumpkin · 02/12/2004 22:54

he he he, I really don't think they would ask you to do that but even so I could probably hold a pencil case let alone a pencil. Yes it was embareesing but it was over in two minutes and for the greater good, so someone saw my boobs i hope they wre as shocked as my dp when he saw them for the first time xx

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 23:01

lol

I think my dh thought he had died and gone to heaven judging by his reaction when he first saw them!!!!!

BUT they were a bit perkier then as I was only 19!

lavender2 · 02/12/2004 23:05

try Shapely Figures...an underwear catalogue for the bigger woman (am wearing one now actually, v.comfy and q.sexy I think).

Smashingpumpkin · 02/12/2004 23:11

janeyjinglebops- am sure that is why me and dp are still together . However if you are seriously unhappy with your boobs then you are entitled to do something about it. i hope to go down to a d. therfore I will still have boobs I just won't have to wear tents o disguise their enormity xx

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 23:12

Tride shapelyfigures.co.uk and got inkmate site?

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 23:13

oooooooh D would be bliss. Just right or maybe a C but don't think they can take too much off can they?

Smashingpumpkin · 02/12/2004 23:15

Have gone for a d as c would start people asking questions, hopefully this way they might think I've lost a bit of weight xx

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 23:20

lavender2,
Found shapely figures it is .com!
Unfortunately the cup sizes aren't big enough, but thanks

JanH · 02/12/2004 23:36

jjb, did you look at amplebosom ?

They go up to J,K,L in some sizes!

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 23:44

JanH this looks more promising. Thanks

joashiningstar · 03/12/2004 00:04

Just managed to get four bra's in 46f for a total of £27 quid - that's for the lot not each. From a supplement that came with my Simplybe catalogue. Three are gorgeous - very feminine, one silky, others lacy ... the colour of one is a bit sh*te but for the money, it's great.
Trouble is it means sending for the catalogue and then waiting until they send you the right supplement.

80sMum · 03/12/2004 00:15

Blimey! You larger ladies think you've got problems finding bras that fit? I see that on Appleblossom there are 91 bras in size 36F. There are only 3 in my teeny weeny size!

Think yourselves lucky!

JanH · 03/12/2004 00:21

80smum, I know exactly what you mean, I am a practically non-existent size - M&S have ONE bra in my size - 42A.

It's really quite weird - I have always been an A, if not an AA - I have gained weight all over but I'm still an A, which makes perfect sense to me, but not to the bra makers apparently. You can get A and AA in all the little sizes but not the big ones.

I emailed one of the bra websites to ask why they only do one style in 42A and the best they could offer was "try a 40B".

StuffTheMagicTurkey · 03/12/2004 00:34

I have big boobs (h cup) and have bought lovely bras from Figleaves . The site was recommended by other Mumsnetters.

FrostyTheSurfMum · 03/12/2004 18:01

Figleaves have free delivery this weekend ... and another vote for Fantasie (I'm 34H).
