Ds has jammed the dvd bit of the dvd/hdd player. Can it be saved - by whom, how much?

He has stuck at least 2 discs in there and the disc tray will not open. We've tried to take the thing apart but the dvd bit is a sealed unit.

Has anyone had one repaired, and roughly how much did it cost? Or does anyone know of a magic way to open the tray from the front to retrieve the discs (have tried sticking in cocktail sticks and a knife).

(It is a Sharp one, if that makes a difference)

Bumping, optimistically.

We had this happen,but ours came apart via screws,so dh was able to extract them.

I'm sure someone with far more useful suggestions will come along soon,so this will at least bump it for you.

Thanks for that. I was assuming that lots of people would have had the same problem with meddling little fingers. Perhaps other people watch their dcs more closely than me, or tidy away dvds more efficiently.
