how do you pronounce gilet?
is it french style, with a silent 't' jilay or like the razor?

codswallop · 02/12/2004 13:36

jilay

peskykids · 02/12/2004 14:08

Space monkey - I'm sorry but I'm doubled up with laughter at your shopping trolley. I don't know why they're intrinsically funny, but they are... sorry!

peskykids · 02/12/2004 14:08

oops - sorry for outing you, spacedonkey

OP posts:
happymerryberries · 02/12/2004 14:22

I'm ignorent of these posh clothing terms. I thought that a furry gilet was a euphmism for something rude

spacedonkey · 02/12/2004 14:25

Glad your party went well cod, what did you wear?

codswallop · 02/12/2004 14:36

FrenchNicholasGirl · 02/12/2004 15:13

did you say a furry bag?????? to keep your wallet warm? or is it to wear as a hat if it gets too cold when you're out?

sure it's lovely
glad you took the furry gilet back, they look nice on no one

princessinapeartree · 04/12/2004 19:55

thank god you ditched the gilet. I was at a girls lunch on monday and of the 14 women there (all aged between 34-40) no less than EiGHT were wearing them! They looked ridiculous! And they didn't seem to notice! Us gilet-less ones were wondering if they all felt smug and part of some furry club, or if they were pretending not to notice that they were all dressed exactly the same in a wierd stepford-wives-like-manner.

serious fashion faux pas or what
