Does anyone know if you can cut a polaroid photo without ruining it?

I have a great polaroid photo of DH and I but would need to crop it for it to fit in the frame I have for it. Does anyone know if cutting through the black bit of a polaroid destroys the photo (i.e. by releasing the chemicals that create it)?

i've no idea but could you scan it and then get a new pic done to put in the frame?

Go to Boots. They will do a copy within the hour for the size you want.

Thanks for confirming what I thought. Am glad I asked before I got the scissors out! I will scan it and see how it turns out, or get a different frame for it.

I've cut Polaroid photos before without a problem - but that was ages and ages ago - the ones that made the square prints about 3.5 x 3.5". Maybe more modern ones are different but it seems a bit unlikely.

Oh and if you scan it set the preferences on the print quality to 'best' and it will come out similar to the original.

Thanks fortyplus. I'm going to scan it to be on the safe side. I'll set it to 'best' print quality.
