Calling all Edinburgh MNers, this is a bit of a long shot, and probably quite cheeky.......

but I wondered if anyone has a travel cot that I would be able borrow during half term (sometimes between 14-23 February).

I'm travelling up on my own with the 3 DS's (on the coach) for a week, and am going to have to bring 3 carseats (2 boosters which DS1 and 2 can carry themselves) and the infant car seat, plus the pushchair, and of course at least one (possibly two?) suitcases. Also going to need a travel cot with me (which we do have!) but I'm not sure I can manage so much stuff.......so I thought if there was someone that could lend me one for the week...................

Blimey, good luck with all that! I would gladly help if I could, but we are way past that stage, sorry.

FAQ · 25/01/2008 17:10

Thanks Tamum - I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it - but I will

There are (or used to be) some baby equipment hire places here if all else fails, but maybe someone will be on here over the weekend who can help.

FAQ · 25/01/2008 17:18

on thank you Karen .

Not sure why I didn't just ask you.........guess I was feeling that you were already helping me so much (rooting out legal stuff, reading and replying to my waffle on the thread in relationships etc etc etc) seemed to be a bit rude to ask if you had a travel cot I could borrow too

KKM - who else was it going to be .

Pruners - thank goodness for that I obviously missed your move oooop north as I was really certain you were down south (which by the way is cold atm too).

Had NO idea that Tamum was up there - had visions of her doing some high flying sciency job in London or something

if you have no luck here, could you try freecycle? Posting a wanted there?

Flier · 25/01/2008 17:32

or there's this company for hire www.tomthumbbabyequipmenthire.co.uk/index.html

mawbroon · 25/01/2008 17:35

I would offer you mine, but I am just starting to childmind so might need it then...

Do you have any time to meet with some of us lovely Edinburgh MNetters?

FAQ · 25/01/2008 17:36

thanks for that link Flier - may consider hiring a pushchair from them so I don't have to carry DS3's with us.........I'd only need it for pushing him around town etc....

Tamum · 25/01/2008 17:38

We do have universities up here you know, so your vision wasn't too far off

FAQ · 25/01/2008 17:40

mawbroon - I'd love to meet some of you - I'm staying with my brother - but it's not a planned trip per se - I'm getting away for a week or so with the DS's so DH and I both have some space to consider what is going to happen with our relationship . So my DB is pretty much going to be doing his own thing (apart from the odd spot of babysitting - Karen999 and I are already plotting some posh wine drinking somewhere one night LOL) and I'll be doing mine with the DS's.

Expat is also planning on doing the 5hr trip with her entire clan just to meet me

Obviously as far as the DS's are concerned we're going away to see their uncle for halfterm, Daddy can't come because he has to work. So we have to do some shopping sightseeing too.

I know you have Universities up there- if I hadn't decided to stay abroad I would have gone to Edinburgh University.........strangely they don't let you defer for 2yrs (or more)
