Change of name due to marriage HELP

Quick question - I got married last year and I STILL haven't changed my name on my drivers license (naughty I know but it's such a pain). I'm trying to sort it now and I have the form but I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to.

So, obviously I'm sending my current driving license as well as my marriage certificate but are there any other documents?

I don't have a valid passport as it expired a couple of months ago. Do I need to send anything else to prove my identity? I can't find a clear answer online.

OP, I married in 1981, and still have no intention of changing my name on my driving licence or anything else!

It should just be your driving license and the marriage certificate, your license is your form of ID and your new name is on the marriage certificate. Mine didn't take too long to arrive back but that was 3 years ago!

@colourPink you only need to send your licence in your previous name and your marriage certificate with form D1 (or D2 if you have a lorry/bus licence).

Greta, you appear to have entirely missed the point I was making. That if my licence has happily remained unchanged for 41 years, OP shouldn’t be panicking about hers after a mere few months!
