If you go with Talk Talk you get calls to Portugal (and many other destinations free
look here

With that package you can also get free unlimited Broadband....all for just over £20,
we have, all in all, no trouble with them, and been with them a good 2 years now.

I use 18866 (www.call18866.co.uk) it is not the cheapest service around but from the cheaper ones it's the most reliable I have found. You only pay for the calls you make, no monthly fees. It is 2p a minute to Portugal.

thanks for that I'll look into it.

if you buy a phone card for international calls it might cost you a lot less. We use one that costs 5 euros and we get about 500 minutes to the uk on it

You obviously have internet access, why not use Skype. Calls over the internet are super cheap. And if the other party installs Skype and you call each other through your computers, there is no charge whatsoever.
