DH suggested it to me after vetoing my suggestion that we looked into keeping chickens.

Anyone else interested? If we do, shall I name them after MNers? Ooh, you could sponsor some of the cost of my henhouse and get yourself a chicken with your name Then you can tell everyone what a good lay(er) you are

i quite like chickens. my sister has 3 laying hence: faith, hope and charity.

she also had a goat she adopted from SPCA who is called Dakota.

three mongrel dogs and two moggies.

used to have two guinea pigs, but they got some weirdo guinea pig disease and died.

We got our first 4 hens from a similar group. Well worth it.

We have had lots of these. They arrive looking very poorly, dishevelled and bald but after their first moult they look fab. They also carry on laying for years. Our current two have been laying for about 3 years now.
