Do any Mners children have snailmail penpals? How did you find them?

dd2 (8) has discovered her best friend at school has one, and now she - and, unsurprisingly, her 9 yo sister - would like one too. Trouble is, when you google it's all email pals, which is not what I'd like for them for various reasons.
