Hairdresser visit- price shock

So I've had my hairdresser come to my home to do a lot less than normal but was charged the same price.

Normally have a T section done, cut, toner and styled. Today I only asked for my fringe to be highlighted- a lot less than the normal, cut and toner.

Was charged the same as I normally pay for much more, was I stupid to just pay it or should I have asked if getting less would make a difference to the price?!

Could you message her and ask what the price would have been for your usual colour/cut combo and see if that has massively increased in price? Then you could tell her you expected to pay less this time as you only had what you had done.

It is getting so expensive now that I am thinking of going for something that doesn't require my usual root tint and then highlights. It is starting to feel like it isn't worth the money any more.

Their prices have probably gone up recently. I think it'd be fine to follow up with a message so you can clarify how much your usual is.

You had the same appointment time booked
No chance to resell it as you used less- the price of the product is negligible- you are paying for time.

It's her time you're paying for, so unless you booked for a shorter appointment than usual, I'd expect to pay the usual price. Or probably more with the way everything's going up.

Maybe I am a bit luckier because my best friend is a hairdresser. And I have always had haircuts with a discount of 75%! The last time I was looking for medium length hairstyles , found ideas at glaminati.com/medium-length-hairstyles-long-thick-hair/ . So I have got a similar haircut as the girl on the top of the article for only 30$! Maybe you should look for the best friend-hairdresser too?)
