According to our Sainsburys there is one - due to weather conditions in Spain - "Supplies should be back to normal by 26 November"?

Or are Sainsburys just crap at sourcing? I thought broccoli came from the UK in the autumn but they have hardly had any for about a week and a half!

Well it's funny Jan, because we used up the scrapings of the opened jar the other night and I'd put the new jar on the table. Dh said "bl**dy hell, we're pushing the boat out then?"...but neither of us opened it and it went back into the cupboard! I can take it or leave it myself...

dd1 and I eat loads of Branston...if theres an Ant shortage this year were naffed!

anorak · 24/11/2004 00:39

Anteater, I'm sure there are still plenty of ants available.

Broccoli....well I haven't noticed a shortage but I only shop in Sainsbury's occasionally. I do remember being in there and there being no vegetables on the shelves though - and people complaining. That was about 3 or 4 years ago. But NO vegetables is bad huh...

Anteater - we breed our own ants here... feel free to come and take away our breeding colony if you get a shortage.

Anteater · 24/11/2004 11:40

but did you notice the Arrrrghh Ants!! thread died out very early this summer, mores the pity as this was one of my favs

GeorginaA · 24/11/2004 12:24

Yeah but that's because they started coming in in February

motherinferior · 24/11/2004 12:26

Anteater, please drop round to our little plot of Sarfeast Lunnon which is forever ant-infested, any time you damn please. Ants as far as your nose can reach.

Anteater · 24/11/2004 12:30

drool drool...

We got organic broccoli in last week's organic delivery, so Sainsbury's has clearly failed to source massive broc-producing monolith.
