For the last two weeks or so, when I have gone food shopping I have checked that the BOGOF prices have been shown at the till and on my receipt.

Four times in 10 days I have been overcharged as the BOGOF hasn't registered. Each time the money has been refunded to me. The customer services people do not seen to be at all surprised that the BOGOF has not registered at the till. This has happened at Marks and Spencers, Sainsburys and the co-op, so not just one supermarket chain.

I am now resolving to check what is actually discounted every time I shop.

I am beginning to wonder if this is a rip off ploy by supermarkets - advertise a two for one deal on the aisles but actually charge the full price at the tills unless someone spots the discrepancy and complains.....

It's really annoying, isn't it! I think it happens far too often to be pure coincidence.
