Gifts for an orthodox teen?

One branch of my family is orthodox Jewish and I recently met them for the first time. One of their daughters is 13 and I would very much like to send a gift as I know her family doesn't have the money for items teen girls often like. I would like it to be a surprise so am not asking them for ideas and would really appreciate any pointers re. what would be acceptable. I know any clothing would need to be modest. Sending to Israel so needs to not be too heavy. Thanks in advance.

Send money so she can buy something she wants that's permitted

I know you mean well but maybe the child as religion up to her ears and would just like something for herself.

I wouldn't send a cross necklace to an orthodox Jew. Nor would I send a Guardian Angel pendant.....

The best possible thing to do is ask her mum. Orthodox Jewish women (and since the girl is 13 she will be following the women's rules) have a particular lifestyle - if you get her something she can't use you'll have wasted your money and she'll be without a gift.
