pierced ears - trying to wear earrings after a long break

Hi

I've got pierced ears but haven't worn earrings in ages. Somehow there hasn't been time for jewellery! I bought some fashion earrings at the weekend and got them in OK, but the piercings were itchy and sore.

I'm not sure if I've developed a reaction to cheap metal or if I should wear something pure such as gold for a while while the ears settle down again.

Any thoughts?

pure gold or stainless steel or similar. less chance of reaction.

my ear piercings play up somethign chronic.

same story here - but my ears have calmed down now and will tolerate cheapy silver ones (which is great coz I walk past Accessorize on my way to work). Bought some strange ones recently that were a sort of coppery colour, and I think they were actually painted - that was pushing it too much
