Children in Need - have you done anything daft for it?

Just curious. AS it isn't a work day for me I have missed the non uniform day and school based activities again this year. Used to enjoy it at my last school when I worked FT.

DD has a cuddly Pudsey, and we will no doubt be watching the Children in Need show most of the night on and off.

Anyone else? Have you "done" any events for it?

I'm going to a Dance Marathon tonight at my DD's ballet school. Not too crazy but fun!

Sounds fun; have a great time!

Watching Children in Need breaks my heart though I have to say, I want to get all those unloved kids and say come and live with me. I often tell my DD how lucky she is and explain that not every one has a mummy and daddy and brother than love them and lots of children don't have half of what she has. It makes people pledge money though.

I always end up with tears in my eyes watching the clips; even worse since I have had DD.

sorry
I hate it
I know it in a good cause
I hate the whol blubathon mentality of it

my Dad once said ( when faced with lloyds bank staff in fancy dress)
" if i want my money to be given to me by an elf I woudl bank elsewhere"!

KBear · 19/11/2004 17:25

LOL at your Dad Coddy!!! Where is the elves bank then?

I do know what you mean, after the first round of video clips I tend to switch it over to something else but I'm all for raising money for kids who need it.

My DD is happy she has raised £7 sponsorship money.

I haven't done anything this year, but a few years ago,the pub I used to drink in offered a large donation if I would eat a honey roasted locust.I did & it tasted quite nice.A bit like honey roasted peanuts, but the legs were a bit scratchy going down.MMMMMM!!!!!!!!
