What about Life of Pi?

Behind the Scenes at the Museum by Kate Atkinson is a joy to read.
Also the White Family by Maggie Gee is v good.

notes on a scandal can't be a book club type cook, surely? I read it in a couple of hours and considered it to be eminently fun and readable, but basically chicklit trash, and very poorly researched! (sorry, hope that's not too harsh!)

Oooooohhhhh! Fisil! That's a bit harsh, it was a quick read, but what did you mean poorly researched? It was all set in my old manor and I found it geographically very accurate.

as a teacher I found it based on 1970s stereotypes of what staffrooms are like. I am not usually pedantic about school/teacher stuff - I love Teachers even though my life isn't like that. But there was enough in the book to grate so much that I just found it a flight of fancy!

still trying to read it. It was done by our group just after the dts were born. I was too tired to care but would like to read it anyway.

I thought Notes On A Scandal was c**p - sorry! Read The Lovely Bones instead everybody!
