I would have thought they'll all be open.

Google the services you will pass their info should tell you.

Are you seriously going to drive about 800 miles on Xmas day?

Should think the roads will be empty.

We used to always travel on Christmas day after dh had done the Christmas morning service.

Roads are super clear. Petrol stations are open, but minimal facilities at services - usually just toilets: no shops or catering.

So take food with you.

We are having Christmas Day on Sunday as we dont have DGD on Christmas Day she is at her mums, so DGD comes to us then DS and DDIL come up as if it is Christmas Day. We have always done it this way since she was a baby, we told her that Santa sends one of his elves on a special trip for little girls who dont see there Daddy's on Christmas Day so that they can Have a elf Day!. She stays the night before and gets up to see what the Elf has brought

So then we will be going up to see IL's who have Christmas ready for us when we get there about 6.

Yep will be packing the left overs to eat on the way, was just not sure about diesel.
