Given the number of threads about how annoying/upsetting/generally terrible our parents and in-laws are - do you wonder what your dds will be complaining about that you do when they are mumsnetters

...because they are going to come here and bitch about us arn't they. Even though we are getting it mostly right .

I know my DS1 will say that I spoilt his siblings and gave him too hard a time.
I am also planning to be completely unreasonable as soon as i am old enough to be considered eccentric so I guess his wife/partner will be pretty annoyed about that.
But I am very generous with money and attention and will be happy to help when asked as a granny. And i NEVER give advice unless asked. So maybe i will be OK?

What are yours going to say about you?

I think unless we live close to them we will fall into the 'hands off' category and follow the path of my parents.
My inlaws are overbearing and I think I will instinctively go the other way so as not to have my DIL think about me the way I think about my MIL

I do wonder if the things that my Dc's will dislike are the things we do as a counter to the things our parents did iyswim.
Mine and Dh's parents were both pretty unavailbale for different reasons and we are very focussed on our kids. So we will probably be 'intense' or 'overbearing'.
Perhaps it just bats between each option through the generations?

They wont complain about us because we've been shown how not to do it

But it used to anooy me in the 80's with male comendians doing MIL jokes, when actually these days it's us ladies with MIL's from a different planet
