for my DS's - 7, 4 and nearly 7 months...for Friday afternoon. Attending my Granddad's funeral and I'm going to need someone from 2(ish) until about 4.30ish...

I know I could go to the childcarelink website - but if someone can recommend somebody that would be even better.

Thanks

Can't help you with a recommendation, I'm afraid, but I had the same same problem with my Dad's funeral a couple of weeks ago and used a nanny agency. The lady they sent was absolutely wonderful and my DSs had a great afternoon with her. If you don't get any recommendations, check out agencies in the Bristol area.

Problem is that I will have to take them somewhere - as we're staying in a B&B just to the south of Bristol - so obviously can't have anyone come there to look after them....

I've got a very good nanny friend in Bristol- will give her a call as she knows lots of nannies

stockingfiller · 17/12/2007 14:38

bump
i took dd to my grt nans funeral she was just over one she was well behaved and although ppl were sad and grieving she was good distraction!

TheIceQueen · 17/12/2007 14:58

Thanks everyone

  • have emailed them p123

Stocking - taking DS3 would be a little awkward, as it would mean that DH would have to travel separately in our own car to the crem and back again as the 2 cars that have been booked to take close family have just the right number of seats for those going.....and I (and my parents, and indeed my granddad requested it before he died too!) really want him to travel with us....

sorry was no use! i walerd to crem, the elder ppl there were more concerned at two of my uncles laughing and joking

TheIceQueen · 17/12/2007 15:08

I called my friend but she and all her nanny friends are busy on Friday- sorry and I hope you manage to find someone.

Have you considered phoning round some registered childminders?

TheIceQueen · 17/12/2007 15:28

Thanks CSS - I've called a few - and am not getting much joy at the moment, those that are available can't take all 3 children, and those that can take 3 children aren't available!

TinselHockey · 17/12/2007 18:02

Why don't you post on the CM board?

TheIceQueen · 17/12/2007 18:03

Thanks CSS - did get your email

Tinsel - I have a thread on the CM board already.

Oops sorry!

Hope you find someone.

TheIceQueen · 17/12/2007 19:02

don't worry - I thought I'd just cast my net wider than just the CM's board incase anyone else that doesn't read that board could help

(so far nothing - aRGHHHHHHHHH)

Thanks for all your help everyone - I have finally managed to find a lovely sounding CM who is going to juggle her own children's arrangements around to have DS2 and 3 - DS1 will come with us to the crem.
