Which routes or areas have you driven off road that have been brill fun?

OR which ones have you driven on that were not worth it when you got there?

PLease say how easy they were to drive?

How steep were the banks/hills?

Do you have a favourite?

Will have to ask dh Kanga - the only thing I remember NOT being fun was driving Hardknot/Rhynos Pass in the Lake District - not offroad but bloody scary!!!!

Salisbury Plain is excellent for tank tracks etc.
Just make sure you follow the rules and regulations though and avoid going up there when the red flag is flying!
By ways are good are all shown up on Ordinance survey maps, with a path of green crosses.
Some landowners and ramblers/locals are not friendly though and can be quite funny about you using the by-ways which are free for everyone.
And then there's the shows which have their own routes of off roading, lots of clay and water make it slippery especially when raining and Billing in particular, lots of water runs.
Always better to go in twos and a winch handy too.

Also you can if your adventurous, go on holiday with it or hire one.
Do the Sahara, Morroco or the pyranees I do believe! Go in a group of landys for a few weeks over the sands , mountains etc.
Not yest as little one is far too little, but am intersted in it down the years.
Have you checked the vast array of off roading sites too?

I have driven the Lake District and as I am afraid of steep hills and mountains I want to avoid them.

In New Zealand went up and down them scared silly but it was the only way to the destination. But that was in a {7 metres/23 feet long} motorhome with huge logging trucks sharing the road.
