i think my landlords trying to do me out of my money.....

we put in our calendar months notice...the letter dated the 8th....he said he only recieved it today so we would be vacated by 10th dec...fair enough.....but now he is saying we have to pay til the end of december......i dont see why???? we arent even going to be there and he said himself we would be out by the 10th......he can't make me pay can he? I really don't need this.... his receptionist told me i would have to pay from the 1st to the 10th dec only.....which i would have expected

well thats what we thought......our rent is payable on the 1st of every month...so he is saying we have to pay til the 31st dec.......when he tole me HIMSELF that the tenancy will end on the 10th

If you have a look at this recent thread about issung notice to tenants winnie1's post that is certainly the reading from notice given on the landlord's side but don't think it necessarily applies for notice on the tenant's side, at least if our experience is anything to go by.
