We've 2 children aged 5 and 2. DH has been offered a HoD job at a private school in Ipswich.

Where are the nice places to live? We'd probably have appx £230,000 for a house. We'd prefer a house with not too small a garden but other than that we're not fussed. Could we afford a house in a catchment area for a good primary school? Would we have any hope of getting our 5 year old into a good school joining in Year 1? We'd rather not send them to DH's school at primary level.

What are the good things to do in Ipswich. We like cycling, walking, being outdoors, supporting local events. Are people friendly, welcoming in Ipswich? Are there lots of incomers?

Will the whole area be flooded in 10 years time?!?

What else should I know? We'd be moving from the South.

Thank you anyone who can answer this.

Or possibly a small viallge on the outskirts of Bath (according to my mate who lives there!)

He's playing us all!

No no no no no. He's only just moved here. Ask ProfYaffle - it's in all our local papers! He's buying jasper conrans old house just up the road. He's given Bath a shot, time to move on!

ds2 not good, in fact, far from it

SnowMuchToBits · 05/12/2007 20:31

Oh no, Pillock, sorry to hear that, have you got some help for him? Poor little chap, I'm sure you are doing everything you can. I didn't like to post on the other thread as I would have felt as if I was gatecrashing a bit, but was worrying about you. Hope everything will get better soon,

xxx

ProfYaffle · 05/12/2007 20:31

It was on the front page so it must be true. I'm happy to volunteer to stake out the pub in question and see if he comes back.

ProfYaffle · 05/12/2007 20:33

Sorry, x posted, sorry to hear your ds2 isn't well Pillock.

SnowMuchToBits · 05/12/2007 20:33

Is he actually living in Eye then??? Johnny Depp?? (Not that I care, actually)

ProfYaffle · 05/12/2007 20:37

Very close apparently. Has been seen drinking on a number of occasions in Stradbrooke.

ProfYaffle · 05/12/2007 20:37

I care very much, actually!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/12/2007 20:44

We went to docs today, immediate referal to paeds, just hoping it happens before christmas. Failure to thrive, but no explaination as to why yet

ProfYaffle · 06/12/2007 08:52

Oh no Pillock, you must be frantic. I hope you get it sorted out and your lo is OK.
