****HELP ME compile the ultimate WEDDING PARTY SONG LIST!*** (Im doing the DJ song list)

KittyLetteItBe · 30/11/2007 15:52

Basically my DJ is young, only 20ish, he uses a laptop and wasnt very confident at the christening (but was a last minute thing) he did for us and I didnt like the music, but he was a lovely bloke and still want him for the wedding.

So Ive decided to just do my own list, give it to him and just get him to sit there, look pretty and press 'play'

So what songs would you definatly want to hear at a wedding party??

Looking for classic golden oldies, bit of 80's, recent songs, (I have to have a bit of MCR there too or else Ill be grumpy all night, lol)

Anything and everything!

My mind has gone blank!!

Oasis: DOn't Look Back In Anger (great tipsy singalong, as is Wonderwall)
Twist And SHout - The Beatles (if you've got many over 40s there)
I'm A Believer - The Monkees
Tainted Love by Soft Cell (might not be the greatest lyrics but most people over about 25 love the song)
Spice Girls - Wannabe - ok it's cheesy but little girls (and bigger ones) find it pretty infectious.

Having said that, just want to share two wedding music stories with you all...

Bride and Groom's first dance to The Love Theme from the Blade Runner Soundtrack (cue most of guests muttering what the F is this??)

Wedding reception where they have hired an acoustic singer/guitarist. Whose first song is:

@I see a bad moon rising...'

usuallytooshytochat · 30/11/2007 22:51
