Fell down the stairs, holding DS3 as I was rushing to get ready to pick DS2 up. Ds came away unscathed thankgod.

Somehow managed to get boots on and walk to playgroup to get him.

I thought that was a good sign, if I was kind of walk on it it can't be broken.

Now I can't even put it on the floor, it's swollen but not bruised. Is that a good sign? I've never broken anything before......would I be able to sit here relaying the story to you all if I'd broken it or would I be screaming in agony? It does f*cking hurt though.

Dh not home from work until 3:30pm so can't go to hospital until then.

what a f*cking nightmare!

probably badly sprained rather than broken - you still may need crutches for a few days though

Right, Been to A&E and there's no bones broken.

Doc said it's ligament damage but didn't xray, He said to go back in a a day or two if theres now change.

Why do they keep pressing the painful bit though? He said "which bit hurts most here or here?" the second "here" nearly sent me through the roof but he still pressed, pressed and pressed it again.

Martha, my kendal mint cake was wasted as I was seen with 5 minutes of being there, didn't even get a change to read a single paragragh of my book!

Glad its not broken emma!
Take it easy. It's so easy to damage it again while it's weak so put your feet up.

emma but what did he say abot he silkines of your hooves?

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 13:11

Your comments on this subject have made me LOL Codswallop - i need a laugh whilst struggling with m/s! ( i seem to remember your comment about nice nails in childbirth for the "holding baby shots " as well!)

Ha ha Coddy.

I'd like to say he carressed them and admired my baby soft hooves but all he did was prod, bend and poke my very sore ankle.

B*stard didn't even help him get on or off the bed.

He made me laugh by saying spend the rest of the day resting, with your foot raised above my heart, with a ice pack on it. I felt like asking him if he had any children and if he did could I borrow the cage/drugs he uses to contain/sedate them in these circumstances.

I strapped it up this morning and it's feeling much better after a few doses of ibruprofen. Still hobbling but not to much.
