I may cave in and get a PS2 for DSs (8 and 6). We have never had anything like this - what would I need to get to make it work for 2 boys? And what games might be good? And where would be the best place to get it all from? Any advice gratefully received as I am very vague about all this.

i'd reccomend getting one used off ebay!! they are normally sold with a few games and all the bits to set it up- if you ask the seller if its all there to use straight away then they will tell you. games off there are good too- normally much cheaper than in the shops.....

or go to your local game or gamestation and ask them- they are normally very friendly and helpful, and once you have the console and a couple of games you can then buy new games off ebay to save a few pennies!!

I agree with getting one from Game or somewhere similar.

You will probably need a second controller if your DSs want to play 2-player games that let them play at the same time. It's a good idea to also have a memory card so that they can save their progress on games.

The games they will like will depend on their interests. My two boys (7yrs and 4yrs) like Lego Star Wars, Spiderman games, and Sonic games.

Thanks very much - I was beginning to think I'd ask a very daft question! So essentially a console, 2 controllers, a memory thing and a couple of games.

We've found that the best place to get some really good deals from is Blockbusters... the video rental place
We just bought a PS3 bundle from them and got loads of freebies with it for loads less than game and they had allsorts including PS2's.
They're quite helpful in my little store but if you ring your local store they should be able to help, just ask what deals they've got on at the mo on PS2's. HTH

Thanks again - would never have thought of Blockbusters.
