DH was working this morning and they oddly got onto a conversation about being left and right handed.

Is one twin left handed and one right handed?

Or are the bunch of men talking utter tosh?

tis often true

I know 2 sets of twins and all four people are right handed. One set is a boy/girl set and the other set, 2 boys.

I've not heard that one before though. Interesting.

Maybe it works for identical twins?

Hmmm. I thought they were all nuts.

This makes them nuts - they have heard a theory that if a singleton is left handed, they possibly began life as a twin but the twin died early in pregnancy?

Are they nuts? Maybe it was too hot in the boiler room?!

Twins from 2 separate eggs and 2 separate sperms are not genetically any closer than singleton brothers and sisters, so can be true that one LH and one RH.

my dh is a twin and both he and his bro are right handed. thats obviously not a scientific survey though!

Sirry Niecie, posted before I saw your response. Are the 2 boys non identical?

posted 3 times! How did that happen?? Sorry

No the boys aren't identical.

I read somewhere a million years ago, that identical twins tend to be one left handed and oen right handed.... there was an explanation why, but obviously my brain never retained the scientific bit.... And I've also heard that left handed people may have had a twin in utero which didnt survive or somethign, but I dont like ot dwell o nthat too much as I am left handed and it gives me the shivers.
