wtf are they using discs for anyway?!

tallulah · 24/11/2007 14:36

Because the Govt won't pay for a decent IT system, that's why.

(I can't find anything on bbc website about it)

BettySpaghetti · 24/11/2007 14:39

Sounds like they've been using the Home Delivery Network numpty that delivers round here -certainly the right level of incompetence

(deliveries to wrong addresses, books in cardboard packaging left out in the snow to get soggy , parcels left in obscure places with no note left to tell you they've left one - maybe I should check all the nooks and crannies of our garden)

oh fgs. I suspect this is what you get when you keep demanding year-on-year 'efficiency' savings i.e. waves of redundancy and cost-cutting. After all, the reason bank account details were left on was it would have cost £5k to take them off... obv. it's now costing millions.

hunkermunker · 24/11/2007 14:56

Oh, BS - THEM! Just had a heavy parcel of books lobbed over the above head height side gate - no way of telling there wasn't a car or a cat the other side of it

Tutter · 24/11/2007 14:57

we had letter this a.m. advising our details have gone astray

Tutter · 24/11/2007 14:58

planning on calling our bank manager on monday to ask whether worth changing account

anyone heard the banks' line on this?

Boredveryverybored · 24/11/2007 14:58

I've had exactly the same thing this morning hunker, big box of books launched over the side gate!

hunkermunker · 24/11/2007 15:01

I'm going to complain to The Book People - it's dangerous and shit of them.

i havn't had a letter saying my details have been lost !

this is ludicrous! beggars belief

i was taling to my dad and he does it security and things and he said this info would be classed as 'resricted' but 'restricted' info can be sent by plain old royal mail, not even recorded!
