VERY long shot...anyone know anyone who damaged their car in a pothole in Nursery Road, Epping Forest earlier this year?

The reason being that I caused £400 worth of damage to my and Essex council are saying it's not their fault. I reckon that as there was a wacking great big 5" deep pothole in the road then it was their fault. They're saying that the knew nothing about it, but seeing as I went back two days after it happenend (before I'd written to them) and they'd made temporary repairs I'm guessing they're not being entire;y honest with me. Anywa, ignorance is no defence is it.

I'm looking for anyone who encountered the same hole (just before the King's Oak pub), ideally before 9th March 2007.

Fingers crossed....

  • £400 worth of damage to my car.

Sorry hideous typos everywhere. You know what they say, type in haste and repent at leisure. Or something.

What about writing to the local paper or maybe your local paper has a online forum?

Write to the local Guardian newspaper and ask them to cover it. They're not exactly overwhelmed with fantastic stories, are they? (I do remember when suspected terrorists were raided 'on their patch' and the front page was about the council cutting trees without permission.)

Good idea! I'm not local to the area so I guess from your post RAQ that it's the Guardian?

Why not call and ask for the newsdesk or at the very least write a 'strongly worded' letter?

Thanks for this!
