Donbean · 04/11/2004 15:21

Got a funny story about a speeding ticket....
A friend recieved one through the post. Her DH wrote to the police station to tell them that they had made a mistake that it wasnt thier car, they were not even in the area at the time of the offence and that they refused to pay the fine.
The police duly sent a photo of their car, complete with registration actually committing the offence.
Thinking he was clever, the womans DH sent on to the police station a photo of the cheque to pay the fine.
A day or so later, through the post came a photogragh af a pair of handcuffs from said police station!!!! Needless to say, they payed the fine PROMPTLY!
Do you like that...

Blimey a policeman with a sense of humour! You don't get many of those.

Donbean · 04/11/2004 15:40

I know, thats what every body says when i tell them that story!

lou33 · 04/11/2004 16:30

I have borken the law, but nothing involving stealing, or anything that puts anyone else at risk.

jampot · 04/11/2004 16:34

my sis once got a parking ticket on Birmingham Road in Sutton but the traffic warden only ticketed my sisters car and left everyone elses - she was seriously annoyed about it but when she came to pay it realised the TW had put transposed 2 of the numbers on her reg eg. instead of 969 he had put 996 so didn't bother paying. Obviously never caught up with her either

oh god loads...but nothing that could hurt anyone except myself!

Chandra · 05/11/2004 01:29

One day I was in a hurry and was driving... well.. very fast. I had the sun in front of my eyes so I couldn't see very well, but hey it was not the motorway but nearly, and suddenly out of nowhere was this stupid policeman (stupid he was you will see why) standing in the MIDDLE of the road pointing his radar gun at me. I dug my feet on the breaks and just missed him. I was so scared that when he came to the window I started screaming at him that it was a stupid thing to do to stand in the middle of the road to track fast cars when the sun was going down, I screamed to him that I could have killed them (I am not a screaming person BTW but this is the only time that I have been about to kill some one). At the end he was so embarrased that didn't even give me a ticket
