How to make 30th birthday in a caravan special

Dh is 30 in July. We were meant to be in America on a once in a life time holiday but this has not been cancelled and we are going to caravan on a Haven site instead. The site is pretty remote so no scope for a nice meal out etc. We have two dd's under 6. How can I make it special for him?!

He is 30 with two small kids in a caravan on a Haven park there is only so special you can make it. How about balloons, banners, cooked breakfast with bucks fizz do an activity he would enjoy for the day then a takeaway for tea.

Is he doing anything else for his birthday? Is there no nice restaurants you can drive too?

Other than that I’d say his fave takeaway ordered to site and some balloons & cake & beers in the caravan

Send the kids to grandparents/babysitters instead Wink

I had my 30th birthday in a caravan on a Haven site Grin. Also with 2 young DSs.

We went to the zoo for the day then a nice pub meal on the way back.

It was actually lovely xx

Moderate your expectations of “ something special “. Under those constraints for us itd doing something the kids enjoy so they are in a sunny mood , then just putting our feet up outside the van with a glass of fizz and a delicious take away or M&S ready meal

I know! It's the best we could do as we had money left after saving for America. Better than staying at home! It's a pretty posh caravan tho Grin

Yeah I think it def a case of lowering expectations!! No takeaways near but but taking a posh ready meal may be an option....

@asteriodeleven I spent my 30th with 2 tantruming kids in an awful BnB in Edinburgh, I'm sure whatever you do will be lovely.

Step 1 - Get rid of caravan
Step 2 - ???
Step 3 - Special

Some fancy pre mixed cocktails might make it seem more of an ‘event’? Charity shops for the glassware then it doesn’t matter too much if it doesn’t survive the journey.
A new board or garden game that you can enjoy together (with or without DC) might help make the day stand out a bit
