Im looking a for a website that lists prices of basic household stuff, milk, bread, bananas, etc, etc so that I can compare where would be best to shop. Asda I guess is the cheapest but I went to our local one today and although the fruit and veg was good they didnt have a fresh fish counter and what they had was at the end of an isle and really rubbish. I usually go to Sainsburys where they have a big fresh meat and fish counter and instore bakery. I felt the food in Sainsburys was generally healthier whereas in Asda I seemed to be surrounded by ready meals and chocolate. I was surprised that bananas, milk and brocolli were the same price in both supermarkets. I thought Asda would be cheaper. Hope I havent sent you of to sleep.

I suspect that the shops change their prices too much for any reliable comparisons to be made. However, as a rule I think Asda is the cheapest of the big 4, then morrisons, tesco and sainsbury's the most expensive. Missed out Waitrose - prob more expensive than sainsbury's but not many stores. Also Lidl, Netto, etc - cheap but extremely ltd choice.
Of course, by the time I've post this, someone else will have posted the link to the website you're interested in ....

Probably not what you're looking for but I found this today which could be helpful, it lists all the offers supermarkets have.
