Oh FFS how can I argue that mooncups are cheaper than tampons when I keep setting mine on fire?

Honestly, this is the second mooncup I've set alight.

I sterilise it every now and then in between uses by boiling it in a saucepan of water. Today I went out leaving it on the hob and when I got back it was smoking away. The saucepan is ruined, but I suppose at least the house isn't on fire and I haven't had to have embarrassing conversations with firemen and insurance assessors...

oops

Miaou · 16/11/2007 17:14

set a timer and clip it to your belt!

Peachy · 16/11/2007 17:15

I used to do that with microwave sterilisers... I gave in and bought a miltons unit, you might like to do the same LOL

(but as for embarassing mooncup conversations- I was pushed into explaining what one was by 2 Uni colleagues in the middle of a silent (for the monks) Buddhist Monastery LOL- beat that )

They are still cheaper than tampons, you just need to check stuff before you go out, or you'll find your entire home going up in smoke!

Get a timer with a loud ring?

God this was worrying me.

I thought it was catching alight whilst you were wearing it

PMSL!

But make sure you have batteries in your smoke alarms...

LittleBella · 16/11/2007 22:15

LOL, I have marvellous smoke alarms which are all connected electrically so that when one goes off, the other 2 do as well. There's some kind of emergency back up as well, so even if electricity gets turned off, they still go off if they smell smoke.

Just as well really, given my propensity to leave things bubbling away on the hob...
