Legal advice needed on a dispute with a childminder

Does anyone know of any organisation apart from the Citizens Advice Bureau which could advise a friend of mine who is in dispute with her ex-childminder? Many thanks.

What about the National Association of Childminders (or whatever they're called) ?

emmieswill - My friend has reported the matter to them and they are investigating it, but they say they cannot get involved in legal matters and the childminder is threatening legal action.

As a childminder of 16 years, Ofsted inspected etc, this is my advice - The childminder has to have a complaints policy and if the complaint is not resolved between clinet and childminder, then she has to demonstrate where the client can go for further advcie. I would suggest that your friend contact Ofsted who are responsible for registering childminders. If you want to email. I'll see if can help at all. my details are here

Fionn, I have just come back from the early years exhibition today and I picked up a leaflet on how to make a complaint about your childcare provision. I was right about it being Ofsted, but they do not become involved in dipsutes about fees or contractual arrangements.
