think mine has to be when I did work experience at a hairdressers

the manageress wasn't very nice at all, I really didn't like it there

She asked me to put a gown on a man who was going to have his hair cut.

The gowns and coats were all together on a coat rack

He sat in this 'gown' waiting, then the manageress said to me crossly

"that is not a gown, that is my coat"

Years ago, I said to one of DW's friends in the pub:
"Where's your friend with post-natal depression? Did she come out?"

Her husband was standing right next to us. And she was behind us.

I wanted the ground to swallow me up.

MamaG · 06/11/2007 12:57

I wasn't being a sneery "oh this thread has done before" bitch

I still think being in Junior high, in the crowded lunch room, wearing white shorts and having my period come early is still the worst moment ever. There was no hiding it as I scooted out. It was awful

anniebear · 06/11/2007 12:58

I still cringe thinking about it.

I was thinking of your story and was remembering a junior washing my hair and managing to completely soak my face.

Walking around a London art gallery with my skirt tucked into my knickers and a long string of loo roll trailing down behind me. I thought the people behind me were laughing at the art

In my wild single days I stayed over at a friends after a night of drinking and general bawdiness. She lived in a bungalow with a loft conversion & her room was in the loft. There was a set of retractable loft ladders to access her room.

In the early hours I inevitably needed a wee and made the precarious climb down the ladder, dressed only in my bra and knickers. Unfortunately I didn't realise that her brother had come in and pushed the ladders half way up so he could get into his bedroom...

I ended up half way down and somehow manoevered myself so my feet and hands were on the same rung. In my drunk state I had no idea how far the ground was so just sort of hung for a bit calling for help (looking like some mad bat creature) until I let go.

Friends brother came out of his room to find a half naked girl sprawled at his feet...

Took about a year to live that one down...

colditz · 07/11/2007 07:50

getting diarrhoea at school, soiling my pants and having to wear cycling shorts, then soiling THEM and having to re-enact West Side Story on the orders of the insane meglomaniac gym teacher wearing just a gym skirt and no knickers. I was 13 and had to sit on a boy's knee, and 14 years later it still makes me want to cry!

colditz · 07/11/2007 07:52

Oh, being caught naked and 'rocking the night away' by my boyfriend's mother - only for them to have a stand up row about my frigging AGE, right there in front of me (her saying I didn't look a day over 13 and how could he, him arguing I was perfectly legal and it was none of her business, and me at nearly 17 wanting to DIE and so angry too!)

It was the first time I met her.
