Have had a horrendous week, shouting at kids who are bored and feeling very stressed out re my dad. He is now living with us and it is very hard keeping four kids quiet and not arguing. Anyway, last night, after desperate amounts of trying to forget my life wine, I rashly told the kids we were having a Halloween party and they could invite who they liked. What the hell am I going to do with loads of kids between 6 and 12? Helpful suggestions please for party games etc.. Someone mentioned a website recently with themed parties but I can't find it. OMG, it's tomorrow!

Jollymum, there are a couple of threads on here with some ideas for party food and games. Just type in halloween in 'search current messages'. Also, search in google. There are masses of sites there, mainly American, of course! Both have given me a few ideas.

I remember that thread, but don't know how to find it. One game they suggested was a pumpkin ring toss. Put a few pumpkins around the room, and get kids to try to toss a ring over them.

Good luck with the party. We're having one too, but it's for little ones. The only organised activity will be pass the parcel. Rest of the time they'll just kick balloons around, dance and eat. Oh - we've also made a point to have the party time be quite short.....90 minutes.....so they'll come in, run around, eat and leave.....hopefully!

type hallowe'en party games into google and there are loads of suggestiuons, print-offs, clip art etc.

we have a pumpkin quiz to settle them down a a bit before food.
a pumpkin hunt - DD has drawn and cut them out.
treasure hunt...find items begiining with G.H.O.S.T. W.I.T.C.H. etc
toss the ghost --- numbered tubs, ghosts made from balls of tin foil, covered with white fabric nd tied with pieces of cotton, throw them into the tubs and score the points marked on the front.
pin the nose on the witch...witch printed off from one of the sites googled.
they're all going to make a mack ASDA £4 for 12

Happy Hallowe'en

How about spliting them into teams, give each team a toilet roll, the team to make one member a mummy the fastest wins.
A sort of lucky dip, with plastic spiders, skeletons, etc, all mixed up in slimy red and green jelly.
A pass the parcel, using a hollowed out pumpkin, filled with sweets/lollies, when the music stops you get to pull one out.
All the bakery shops are doing Halloween cakes at the moment, for a buffet.

found a fab idea when i was looking.... get a surgical glove and fill it with water or juice and freeze it or jelly and youll have a scary jelly/ice hand! but jelly spiders in the ice cubes!... games pin the tail on the cat/ pin the nose on the witch! get ring doughnuts tie them to washing line, first to eat it with no hands wins!! dookey apple, have a good night and good luck!!!
