Need answer to dd's letter to tooth fairy

DD's second tooth came out today and she's put it under her pillow with a letter asking how the tooth fairy knows when people's teeth come out.

Any suggestions on how to answer? Obviously I could just reply that it's magic but would prefer something more imaginative although I'm sadly lacking in it.

Maybe something like when your tooth falls out a little bell tinkles in the toothfairys house and she follows the sparkles to your bed. Or is that really crap lol

Hmmm! Might work. She's 6 but VERY switched on. ..

Tbh, i always knew there was no toothfairy an i knew that it was just a bit of gas between my folks and me! If shes switched on why not go down the more medical route, when a tooth goes a nerve signal is sent to blah blah blah! How much is she hitting you for?

chicaguapa · 04/11/2007 19:24

£1 which I didn't think was too bad.

You are getting away lightly lady! What do you think dd would believe? I mean has she asked you to your face or just through fairy mail lol

BettySpaghetti · 04/11/2007 19:26

Not sure what to write but when you reply do it on the computer with a really small type face and cut it out so the letter is only about the size of a playing card -I did this for DD and she still treasures that letter

WatTheFawke · 04/11/2007 19:27

Or you could always do the cop out

This is the toothfairy, i can not tell you as its a secret and i will get into trouble with the toothfairy union

WatTheFawke · 04/11/2007 19:28

BETTY, thats brill and i am robbing that idea for future questions form my dcs!

chicaguapa · 04/11/2007 19:28

Lol! I like that one. It sounds like the sort of answer DD would give if she was a tooth fairy.

The tooth fairy can smell teeth from very far. Like a dog can smell meat, or a bee can find pollen...

I once wrote to the fairies and I got a letter in return that was written all in rhyme and in tiny tiny writing on a weeny letter. I still remember how utterly thrilled I was - and now I am nearly 30 I love that my parents went to all that effort.

DD has just gone to bed and she's put a piece of paper and a pen under her pillow too so there's no excuse for the TF not to leave a reply!
