Do they run a business or have a specific occupation? Try their possible trade journels.
'Please contact me ad's' in the local paper.
Contacting their old works and giving your contact number to be passed on (businesses can't give you addresses as its against the data protection act)
The 'Red Cross' do a search thing, I don't know how much it costs, but I know that that one works as my ex. was contacted by them as the possible brother of a family that were split up and all adopted at a very young age and he had even had his name changed. The eventual family reunion took place 32 years after they had been split up!

It is someone who would be about 30 years older than me so I think facebook would be out of their radar! Will try 192.com and FR though. Thanks.

Ah. One of the people I am looking for is listed on 192.com (also one mention under death ) but I would have to buy credits to see further. Is there a free service?
