DDs (8 and 9)are going treat or treating for the first time tonight?

What's the earliest they can start? Bearing in mind we have to be back in time for me to decorate the house, give them time to hand out goodies to other t or t'ers, feed them, bath them, and get them to bed for nine.

And hide all the stuff they've been given.

Any tips for a T or T vigin?

Unfortunately, it's a complete free-for-all - it would be much better if everyone had a set time, and then there would at least be a bit of atmosphere on the street.

I would say as soon as it gets dark, eg around 6pm, for about half an hour.
