Having a Halloween party and trick or treating trip mainly for DS1 (6yrs) but obviously DS2 (2yrs) will be involved. DS1 wants to be a vampire so have got fangs, fake blood (nice!) etc but not sure what to do for DS2. Last year he managed to squeeze into a baby pumkin costume complete with beret style had.....definitely pictures I will be bringing out to show his first girlfriend . Not sure what to do this year - any ideas?

Paint his face maybe? I have not come across costumes for 2yrs, they normally start at 3.

Look on Ebay? Lots of fancy dress outfits.

Asda have some for £5 or birthdays for £10. Ds is 22mths and got him a spider outfit from asda.

I think this is dead cute Piglet on Ebay, 18-24m

Make a ghost costume from an old sheet?

Maudy · 25/10/2004 15:29

forgot to add that I don't really want to buy anything but want to make something easy. Pehaps with sticky back plastic and a empty washing up bottle

What about a mummy? Shread an old sheet & wrap/pin it around him.

popsycal · 25/10/2004 15:30

they have toddler ones on woolworths website - a pumpkin and a devil - but when i went to our local store they had none

Maudy · 25/10/2004 15:31

We just bought DS the wizard outfit from Asda and he's only 2. It's for a 5-6 year old but I'll take it up with a bit of wundaweb and I'll move the belt. It's not that long on him. Reckon it'll need about an inch or so off the bottom. The little hat fits a treat but the beard's a no-no. He looks V cute. Might slap an L plate on him and he can be a sorcerers apprentice.

Maudy · 25/10/2004 16:06

gscrym, lol at thought of DS in wizards beard . Will pop down to Asda later.

H+M kids have some black long sleeved tops with a spider web across the front for 2.99. Would be good with black trousers and a makeshift hat?
Or Poundstretchers have some cute and cheap stuff.

I saw those t-shirts Ixel they were fab. Thought of buying one but DS2 was starting to kick off so had to get out of shop sharpish!

I'd have got one, except my Mum beat me to it and shelled out far to much money on a pumpkin outfit that ds will only wear once and I'll have to wait a year before I can ebay it!!

Enid · 25/10/2004 17:05

lol wizard

Ds2 is wearing ds1's skeleton suit (Woolies) which at age 4-7 is far too big for his two year old body. I have to roll the legs and arms up and he looks ridiculous but he doesn't seem to care !

LIZS · 25/10/2004 17:23

For ds at that age I made a set of batwings cut out of crepe paper which went over his head rather like a poncho. He wore a grey jogging suit underneath. Would have done face paint too but he didn't like it.

Last year I cut loads of bones out of white sticky back plastic and stuck it to a dark joggin suit to make a skeleton.

Peacocks and asda have got really good costumes.
