as I've just been looking on laterooms.com and found a cracking deal for a room for Friday night at a rather nice hotel in Bristol - usual price £163 (including breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children)...........

£78 on laterooms ............

but my cheque won't have cleared until midnight tonight so I can't book it yet as it's one of those pre-pay ones wAAAAAAAAAAAAH

FF - there can't be that many people looking for a single night in a room that sleeps 4 (5 including infant) can there??? Saturday is full booked and Thursday night was WAAAAAAAY more expensive (lucky we want to go on Friday really LOL).

MM - I don't think it would as the only funds I have in that particular account are a cheque which it said "funds available 24th".....and IME it usually means that it "automatically" appears and is usable before then.......but then I guess it's worth a shot??
