Help - chewing gum in dd1's lovely long hair

Dd1 leant back on the school bus seat and now has a huge wodge of chewing gum in her hair and on her clothes. I know about the freezer for the uniform, but any help PLEASE for her hair - I don't want to make it any worse. Thanks.

Try rubbing peanut butter into it. It works!
