I can (ok at a squash) get 3 car seats safely strapped into the back of my clio, and can also do 2 car seats and a slimish nanny friend

I would have thought so, had 3 stage 2 car seats in my friends the other day.

I would think so we get an infant car seat, a Graco Booster Cushion/seat thingymajig and a basic booster cushion in the back of our Ford Focus. We nearly managed to squeeze in the Graco Booster, infant car seat and Britax (think it was Eclipse but can't remember exactly now) in but the Britax was about 1cm too wide.

We have the grands scenic and get 3 full sized car seats along the middle. HTH.
