Recommendations needed for weekday long-term accommodation near Cannon Street/London

DH will be taking a 6 month contract in London after having been made redundant. Problem is the commute can be anything up to 3h each way so much more feasible for him to stay up there.

However, last week he stayed in a rather low end hotel which turned out to be rather grotty and also we believed played a role in his debit card being compromised/cloned as a day after he made the booking our account got charged with a fraudulent amount of money - no proof of course but the date coincidence is too obvious, especially has he spotted a piece of paper on the check in desk with the his card details. So anybody within the hotel could have done the deed Shall see what the trace will tell.

Anyways, it'll be from next Monday (I think), somewhere near or not too bad commute from Cannon Street. Simple clean room with bathroom facilities will do

Can the people/company he will be working for not suggest something? Or did they come up with the grotty place?
Sorry can't help, we'll be needing something like that if dh gets his job in Hammersmith.

He's contracting through an agency so doubt they'll help. The grotty one we found all by ourselves LOL

Travelodge but book in advance and he might manage £46 a night
Strikes me that what you really need is someone who works away during the week and would be glad of some cash for Sun-Thurs only

for this week he's trying another b&b hotel. Fingers crossed. That'll give him a week to check out things.

did put up a query on gumtree and had a few leads there too.

This place is clean and nice, and v v cheap. Accessible to Cannon Street.
