My friend is gettitng married in June and they are having a best woman instead of a best man. They are really stuck for ideas for outfits for her.
Does any one have any experience of this or any ideas?
THanks so so so much.

I'd say a smart suit, but with a nice corsage to stop it being too masculine.

My friend had a best woman, four female ushers and no bridesmaids. They dressed in smart suits (not co-ordinated) with pretty matching corsages, no other flowers, no frills or flounces.

Another friend had a joint best man/best woman, they had a Scottish wedding so the best woman wore a smart dress with a tartan sash to match the groom's kilt.

My DH had a best woman. She just wore a smart outfit - can't remember what exactly but just what she'd have worn anyway I suppose. It depends whether they're having a "co-ordinated" wedding with all blokes wearing matching suits etc - it might be tricky if so. Ours was very uncordinated - I was walked down the aisle by my sister who apparently was worried that I would want her to wear something specific - it didn't even cross my mind that I should choose her clothes!
Best women are a really great idea - they don't think you're nagging when you give them a list of things you do/don't want the groom to do/wear etc!

We did! We let her pick her own outfit though.

My "bridesmaid" was male... he wore a white tux.... did look good but didn't have a clue about flowers, veil etc....

My best friend and I each did this. For her wedding, the bridesmaids wore bright red dresses (sort of -- mine was a salwar kameez) and the best woman wore a bright red suit, and the other groomsman wore a bright red tie. For mine, we only had one attendant each, mine was male, his was female, and they both wore dark suits with matching ties.

We had a best man AND a best woman. They were a couple (still are) and were getting married 6 weeks after us. He was DH's best friend and she and I lived together at Uni ... She wore the same bridesmaid dress as my other bridesmaid but she and her fiance did a speech together for us ... They were brilliant (they had loads of material to go on ... a double act ... had everyone in stitches and 6 years on people still talk about it.

I had a best woman instead of a bridesmaid (best friend from school). She wore a velvet evening dress in a similar style to mine (I did not go for a conventional "wedding dress")and made a great speech. I left it totally up to her what she wore, and just went with her to approve and buy her choice of gown. We looked very complimentary!

Our best woman wore a lovely dress

I had a best woman. She had a suit made from the same georgette fabric the bridesmaids had the dr4sses in so it was sort of soft and floaty.

there are lots of ideas for what she could wear. A good pal is getting married in a few weeks and her mum is walking her down the aisle. Her father isn't alive so it was going to mean more to her thather mother did it rather than a brohter or uncle.
A wedding day is all about the couple and what is special to them.
