will keep looking

Tamdin · 05/10/2007 22:03

not sure where the pic has gone

susiecutie · 05/10/2007 22:04

i found that mothercare snallest size was pretty good. my dd was same weight and lost about the same too.

cannot remember what the smallest size is there. might be 'earlybaby' or even 'tinybaby' they have more than one 'premi' size.

if you go in and have a general look at their clothes, you will soon work out which is the smallest. Had just the same problem. I ended up using a seperate top and bottom with a gorgeous hat!

sparklygothkat · 05/10/2007 22:08

i have the tiny baby one from mothercare, I think early baby is the smallest, but they don;t have any snowsuits in early babuy. I really need one ASAP and with the postal strike, internet based shops are going to take too long

Just had a look, it is the early baby size.

wish i'd seen this last week! i have just had a clear out of our teeny clothes. I still cannot beleive she was that small!!! have kept a couple of things to remind me! my nana knitted a cardigan using a dolls pattern and it was the only cardigan we could find that fir her perfectly. lasted a while too!

hope that mothercare can help

Alambil · 05/10/2007 22:10

ebay with a courier ?

susiecutie · 05/10/2007 22:11

x posts there!

i would get the tinybaby one if i were you then you will get to use it for the next couple of months at least. there is not a huge difference in the sizes... i had to roll up legs and arms on mine anyway.

sparklygothkat · 05/10/2007 22:12

I actually cleared out all our tiny weeny clothes last year when we moved, girls and boys, as all my kids were 3-5lbs, wasn't expecting to have any more kids at that time

lol, i put the tinybaby one on him today to bring him home from hospital and when I put him into the carseat, his head slipped down so his head was where the chest is.. I had to take it off and just wrap it round his body.

Can't help - but am in floods of sentimental tears at the though of a 3.5lb snowsuit!

I would offer to make you one - but babies grow so fast he would have grown out of it before I'd bought the material!

I had to stop at Mothercare on my way home from hospital with ds because he was too big for all the clothes I had with me!

sparklygothkat · 05/10/2007 22:21

aww thanks seeker, but like you say, he would have grown before I got it, but its a lovely thought

Bramshott · 05/10/2007 22:24

Aw Sparkly, I didn't realise you'd had another tiny one! I cleared out a lot of my premmie clothes and didn't have a snowsuit - sorry, but just wanted to send best wishes to you and your DS2. Will he be in the carseat? Could you just wrap him up with loads of blankets and a hat?

SpookyDooooo · 05/10/2007 22:26

How about next do you have one near you here is a snowsuit i think there upto 1 month is very small but not sure in pounds.

susiecutie · 05/10/2007 22:27

i had exactly that problem too!

she came home in a sleepsuit that wsa so big i had to put socks on to keep her feet in the legs, the socks were so big they came up to her thighs... she wore a fleece cardigan wigh sleeves turned up and a matching hat for a long time... i didnt need the snowsuit realy in the very early days. she was in the pram and in the fleece and wrapped up in blankets, or in the sling with two or more pairs of socks pulled up to er thighs ( like tights ) with my coat around us both...

mybe you could get by without one? spare the expence? do you think you will really need it? they do do early baby coats.. you can layer the bottom half in trousers or socks or both... just a thought...

sparklygothkat · 05/10/2007 22:27

Bramshott, he was born last tuesday at 33+5 weeks he is home now, its for when he is out in the pram.

Sorry i mean little baby in next is upto 5lb & new baby is upto 7.8lb

SpookyDooooo · 05/10/2007 22:30

these come in little baby maybe you could put them over sleepsuit etc

susiecutie · 05/10/2007 22:31

he has done so well to be home at 34+ weeks... well done you two! we were in for 3 weeks with so many probs... so pleased for you

the next smallest size is fairly small but we were not using it for at least a month or more and even then it was big... i have to say, mothercare was the only place i could find clothes to actually fit properly. she was in earlybaby then tinybaby for a long time... she then went into newborn until she was nearly 6 moths old|! we are now using a mix of 3-6 months and 6-9 months ( which are very roomy) she's now 9 months! but very very healthy..

sparklygothkat · 05/10/2007 22:31

I just thought that the weather is turning and would need one. I'll just wait till he grows a bit lol

OP posts:
susiecutie · 05/10/2007 22:33

Actually, spooky, those fleece sleepsuits from next were actually a really good fit. i've just rememberd that that is what we also did... used one over the top of other clothes.

good find

sparklygothkat · 05/10/2007 22:34

OR, how about one of these.. he will keep warm and can grow in it. you can use it in car seat or pram...

DINKYSNUGGLE we have a normal sized on in our buggy, which was great in the pram too...

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/10/2007 22:39

How about
this one?. The new baby size is up to 7.8lbs.

Next online so next day delivery and are very reliable.

He looks lovely, and I like the scottish name.....I have a Cameron!

WestCountryLass · 05/10/2007 22:46

Can you get to John Lewis? I have found they come up trumps when I had to buy prem baby clothes for my DS and for friends early babies. Also, maybe Boots?
