I used to a lot, not so much now though. I don't know why and would love to hear opinions so watching with interest.

Sometimes the dreams are nice sometimes not so good. Thought it might be a correlation of what's going with me in the present but could never marry the two.

Yes I agree! I'm thinking of knocking on the door of my old home and asking if I can pop in for a look but maybe a bit random? Or was going to pop a letter through the letterbox (maybe with proof that I am who I say I am - only 15 minutes away - and obviously after the virus has calmed down. Do you think this is odd? I wouldn't mind if someone knocked on my door for the same reason!

I regularly have dreams about my childhood home, they vary in intensity and type usually depending on how stressed I am/what's going on in my life at the time. Sometimes they're nightmares about my childhood home being destroyed and sometimes fun dreams about returning and doing it up or discovering exciting things there (in quite a childlike way).

I did go back once a few years ago, I wrote to the people who own it now and they got in contact and let me visit. It was an odd experience as it was my home and yet it wasn't as they had done a lot to it and so it looked/felt quite different.

Ps did the owner think it was a strange request?

No they were lovely about it, I was able to share with them some history of the house that I had researched and some photos from our time of ownership which they found interesting so it wasn't just me asking to look round their house IYSWIM. I would imagine it very much depends on the type of people who own it now how they would respond. I felt that by writing first I gave them the opportunity to think about it, check that the details I had given about when I lived there were correct etc rather than just turning up as a random stranger who they may not want to let into their house.

Thx that was my thinking too!
