we are going to be moving to cheshire from down south and we are not sure which area to start looking at.

What we want is a community village place, with good schools where we live so no need to travel miles for schools, lots of countryside near by, parks, nice area but not overpriced etc...

Depends why Cheshire really and whereabouts- I would't base myself in Chester with a regular commute to Manchester, or vice versa. I wouldn't base myself in Crewe full stop. Chester area has some lovely villages with good schools and I'm sure the same could be said for the Wilmslow/Hale/footballer belt though possibly a different vibe. Also how villagey are we talking?

Ah thank you for your reply. I want somewhere big enough for my kid to make friends and go to school in the area we live but nothing too towny - I know of Knutsford and wilmslow and maybe something like Knutsford but more affordable. Husband can work either knutford or sandbach so anywhere really we are happy to consider any places if they fit our criteria

I was going to say Lymm but it isn't life affordable than Knutsford, I don't think. Worth a look though... Stockton Heath?

I don't really know them, I've only driven through Holmes Chapel. Of course Harry Styles is from there... Personally, I would prefer to be nearer to Manchester, which you would be with the ones I mentioned before. Do a search on them and 5 miles around, say. You can go from being in a town to being in the countryside in no time.
